ABOUT THE BOATHOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST

The Boathouse Bed and Breakfast was constructed in 2004, purpose-built and inspired by the original owners' passion for sailing and boat building. When the current owners, Heather and Jeff, viewed the home, they fell in love with its unique character and sensibility. Being close to local beaches, trails and the open Pacific Ocean was a bonus!

With so much unspoiled natural beauty to inspire us we wanted to run our B&B in a way that reflected our environmental values and healthy lifestyle. The Boathouse B&B is minimizing its impact on the environment through several simple and evolving practices:

In our home & in the Bed & Breakfast rooms, we use:

Energy efficient appliances
Biodegradable cleaners & garbage bags
Paper products that are chlorine-free and made from 100% post consumer recycled fibers

In our yard and garden, we:

Have landscaping that is natural and utilizes native plants & trees.
Use organic gardening principles
Compost (Vermiculture or worm composting)

Our website is green hosted (100% Powered by Certified Green Renewable Energy sources).

We follow the three R's. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

We are proud supporters of the Wild Pacific Trail.

We think & act locally. When possible we purchase locally made products, locally grown produce and use organic food ingredients.
